Dearly Beloved!
As you may already know, in order to combat the coronavirus the Polish government has closed schools, universities as well as cinemas and other cultural centres. Mass events have been cancelled, companies are asking their employees to work from home where possible, and the use of public transport is discouraged. Personal hygiene is being emphasised, and the shaking of hands is discouraged, etc. All these are preventative measures to help contain the spread of the virus. The public are being asked to behave responsibly.
We know that the name of Jesus is above every name, including coronavirus. We do not give in to panic. We do not allow fear to rule our minds. However, we also do not want our behaviour to be perceived as irresponsible, or worse, to be a threat to someone’s health or even life. Consequently, in order to respect our government and maintain safety, we are cancelling all church meetings for the next two weeks starting today until (and including) 25th of March [update: indefinitely]. During this time we encourage you to remain in contact with each other through electronic platforms, or by phone. We are thinking of organising teaching sessions over the internet, but more on that later. I would like to stress that we do not want to cause panic or fear, but only to support our government in preventing an epidemic, which is sweeping over China, Italy, Germany, Spain, etc.
Regarding the marriage course which is planned for this coming Saturday, we will cover the material for this session in the next planned session on the 18th April when all this will hopefully be long behind us. We will add another session at the end of the course.
Stay blessed and please let us know if you have any questions / concerns via a private message.
Wojtek and Kirsten
